Fancy foods in a comfy, casual space? You're looking for FIQS Gastronomy. Tucked away in a random corner of SS19, the unassuming little eatery is truly a breath of fresh air!

The menu is delicate and thoughtful, and we had quite the debate trying to decide on our dinner dishes!

We went with the Roasted Gnocchi (RM18) for appetizers and regretted nothing. It was an absolute darling of a dish: dense potato cakes with a slight bite to them, paired with wonderfully prepared capers-raisin emulsion, herb-infused walnuts, and our biggest weakness: bawang goreng!

The Spinach Risotto (RM22) seemed to be the crowd favourite here, and its arrival on our dinner table was inevitable. The dish is, quite simply, mind-blowing! You've got a platter full of perfectly cooked risotto, accented with the contrasting slightly-sweet pumpkin puree, and the creme de la creme: the unbelievably juicy and tender grilled chicken breast! This is the best chicken we've had in a long time!

The Pan-Fried Sea Bass (RM26) also kept us smiling all through dinner: a piece of juicy sea bass with its perfectly crisp skin, topped with apples and some sort of Oriental-inspired vege, which we wish there were more of!

What a meal; hats off to their talented team! We hear their desserts are outstanding as well, and we'll be returning real soon to give their fantastic menu another go =)
