Customisable Breakfast & AWESOME coffee!

Heading straight to this place any time a coffee craving hits, it’s safe to say that we are virtually obsessed with Departure Lounge. The cafe gives off a distinctively Australian vibe, which reminds us of Melbournian coffee joints that we absolutely loved.

Wonder if these Aussie signs have anything to do with it?

The Australian aboriginal art that used to hang on the walls further strengthened our theory.

Departure Lounge is a travel-themed cafe, and this is evident through its airport-inspired menu signboard, travel photos display, and the floor-to-ceiling bookshelf filled with travel guidebooks.

It is an inspiring meet-up place for planning your next holiday, or just for a catching up session over some good coffee. Speaking of which, the coffee here is amazing! Departure Lounge collaborates with Five Senses Coffee (yep, another Australian feature!) and you can clearly see what a perfect partnership this makes through their uniquely-concocted House Blend. The first thing you would notice about their coffee beverages is how rich they are. From a sip you can tell that all that’s good in the coffee world has gone into this cup you now hold in your hands. Plus, it is incredibly smooth and its mild fruity notes add a satisfying dimension to the cuppa.

Cappuccino (RM8.50)

Cafe Latte (RM9)

What we also love is their All-Day DIY Breakfast! Grab a chit at the counter and choose from such breakfast favourites as hash browns, sausages, turkey ham, bacon, mushrooms, pancakes and various types of egg dishes!

Based on your hunger level, you can choose whether you would like 3 items (RM8.90), 5 items (RM11.90) or 7 items (RM13.90).

The 3-item: Great for a snack!

The 5-item: Filling enough to last you till early evening =)

The 7-item: When it is just impossible to decide between hash browns or pancakes ;)

Okay, so it’s insanely hard to find a parking spot here but you could always park in the Menara Tabung Haji just opposite the cafe.

There is also a Departure Lounge in Solaris Mont Kiara, and the feel of this outlet is a little more cosy and homey. With huge, comfy couches and a couple of board games and Uno cards on offer, this place just welcomes you to linger over your morning coffee and toast well past lunch time.

As it’s impossible to find a parking spot on the ground floor, you may be tempted to park in the yellow-lined alleys or even double park. However, getting a saman is very, very likely here so it’s best to just park downstairs in the basement.
