Kafe @ Ubud, Bali

Price Range : Mid-range
Cuisine : Vegan / vegetarian with amazing raw options
Recommended For : Chilling-with-coffee-and-a-book kinda place
Catphobia-Friendly? : Yes

We seriously feel the easiest (and yummiest) way to go vegan is to move to Ubud! Jalan Hanoman, especially, is lined with such amazing vegan restaurants, and Kafe was undoubtedly one of our top picks!

For one thing, the place is super cosy: you can choose a quiet spot by the window and lose yourself in a book, or choose the low-table area where you can stretch your legs a little, or you can sit outside and spend the evening people-watching!

Our favourite find here for us was probably the Raw Green Curry (IDR 41,000) off their Specials menu! The bowlful of fresh vegetables (including tomatoes, cucumbers, and long beans) are beautifully complemented with a spicy green curry sauce.

Despite being raw, the quintessential flavours of green curry definitely shone through in every slurp-ful. We loved the jicama cashewnut rice it's served with as well!

We also thoroughly enjoyed warming up with a bowl of Curry Chickpea Soup, on one of the chilly, rainy nights! =)

Kafe's selection of coffee and desserts are totally to-die-for! We were especially indecisive over their raw cakes, and ended up with the Raw Cheese Cake (IDR 33,000). Needless to say, the smooth piece-ful hit the spot!

Happily getting caffeinated with a cup of Soy Cardamom Kopi Tubruk (IDR 22,000)

  1. Cheese cake does look good but i was wondering what was that garnishing the plate for the cheese cake dish? Was it chili sauce or something? :S
