Very =)

We absolutely love Italian food (well, who doesn’t, right?) and have been craving for a great Italian meal since watching Eat Pray Love. (Bob: Remember the scene where Liz was having a meal with her Italian tutor? The one where she was absent-mindedly cutting a piece of food on her plate and this delicious-looking juice squirted out of it? Yeah, I think I pressed ‘rewind’ a little too many times during this scene...)

Lucky for us, d’italiané kitchen just hits that Italian spot. The food here is crazy good! Here are some of our favourites:

Starters:

If you can’t decide on which starter to have, decide on these: Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms (RM24.90)! The mushrooms were stuffed with minced chicken and herbs, and baked.  This is hands-down our favourite appetiser here! =)

We also love the Sicilian Chicken Salad (RM24.90)! Traditionally, Sicilian Chicken Salad includes grapes and mangoes as part of its ingredients. There are grapes in this version (which were delicious!) but we are assuming most of the mangoes might have been used in the sweet-and-sour-esque dressing (which we really loved too! It’s a very unique-tasting dressing).

We did try the Caesar Salad (RM21.90) as well, but it was just alright. It’s quite a huge portion and served in this really gorgeous white mangkuk which sort of looks like a miniature bathtub. The taste, however, wasn’t as great as we thought it’d be. The croutons were bland and the chicken bits were overcooked to the point that it lost its flavours.

The adorable couple, Mei Yee and Mun Fai, accompanying said Caesar Salad.

Mains:

Out of all the pizzas, the Petto di Manzo (RM26.90) somehow stood out. The thin-crusted pizza is covered with tomato sauce and topped with beef bacon, onions, mushrooms, capers and mozzarella: perfetto!

Deciding on a pasta dish was no easy feat, as the selection they had was insanely mouth-watering: Spinach & Eggplant Parmigiana, Smoked Duck Aglio Olio, and Seafood Ravioli were amongst the more interesting ones... But when in doubt, you can never go wrong with cheese! We ended up with the Baked Three Cheese Pasta (RM24.90). The penne is baked with gouda, parmesan and mozzarella... cheesy goodness! =D

The Seafood Platter (RM45.90) is quite nice too, with its pan-grilled white fish, chargrilled prawns and deep fried calamari.

Desserts & Drinks:

Caramelised Banana and Gelato (RM16.90): just heavenly! The butter caramel sauce is reeeaally good and the hint of cinnamon totally helps!

                      Honey Chamomile Tea (RM6.90)           Lemon Mint Latte (RM6.90)                                  Iced Ciocinno (RM9.90)

An off-menu dessert: Emi’s birthday cake! Once again, Happy Birthday Emi! =)

What makes a meal here all the more enjoyable is the great setting of the restaurant. The decor is very modern and chic, and the ambience is just right for a drawn-out lunch or a cosy date =)

There’s also the option of alfresco dining.
