Yes, you read right, girls! We just found out that Hometown Yong Taw Foo in Ampang is giving 5 pieces of yong taw foo items complimentary today in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2011!
In the words of the restaurant itself, “Home Town Yong Tow Foo hopes to celebrate this meaningful day rewarding all the women by serving yong tow foo.” What an obscurely awesome way to celebrate today!
Our attempts at passing Bob of as a woman did not succeed, unfortunately.
The food here is exceptionally good, by the way! Yong tau foo items include white tofu, fish balls, brinjals, lady fingers, foo chok, char kuoy and soi kow (all priced at RM0.80 per piece). The soup is delicious beyond words! Just the sort of comforting thing you’d like to be having on a chilly, rainy day =)

Their Chicken Wings (RM2.50 each) is a MUST TRY! Crispy, juicy and comes with a very unique garlicky yet sweet dip.
Vegetable Salad (RM5): the stir-fried lettuce has a peanut-ish undertone, if you like that sort of thing. =)
