Check out lists of the best burger joints in KL and chances are KGB (and accompanying photos of their cool tattooed burger buns) will receive a mention on those lists.

We’ve been meaning to drop by their Telawi outlet in Bangsar, but they’ve recently opened up in our neighbourhood, which significantly increased the likelihood of us stopping by.

The burgers here come in beef, chicken, and vegetarian variations but we hear beef is the way to go here. We went a bit wild and pounced on the Double Animal with a fried egg added on (RM22.91). So here’s the gist: 2 crust-seared Australian grass-fed beef patties, sharp cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, topped with an NY-inspired Shack cheese sauce, all sandwiched between 2 fluffy buns.

We gave the grilled beef patty a try as well, in the form of the Sacre Bleu! (RM17.90): grilled beef topped with crumbled blue cheese, buffalo wing aioli, and funnily enough, crushed Ritz biscuits. An imaginative combination indeed! However, more sauce would have been awesome. We gotta say, the crust-seared patties are much more enjoyable too!

What’s a burger experience without some fries, yes? Ordered up a serving of Texas Jalapeno Steak & Cheese Fries (RM15.90) to share, and some ice-cold Root Beers sealed the deal =)
