Fancy having a karipap version of pineapple tarts? How about sweet durian custard stuffed into karipaps?

If you answered yes to the above, Kampong Kravers deserves a spot on your makan list! Specialising in the art of making karipaps, the unassuming cafe provides a wide selection of this staple Malaysian snack!

The desserts versions are truly astounding! Our favourites are, evidently, the pineapple karipap and the durian karipap.

The pineapple jam stuffed in the crispy, flaky crust is absolutely delicious and is an amazing reinterpretation of its usually tart form.

Don't even get us started on the durian! The moment you bite into the karipap, the thick and creamy custard contrasts beautifully, both in texture and taste, with the outer crust.

Other flavours include cempedak and sweet potato. If desserts karipap are not your cup of tea, their savory range is pretty darn awesome as well! We love the spicy tuna, and are keen to give their mutton masala a try!

Besides karipaps, they also serve cream puffs here.

We tried the Nutella Cream Puff but unfortunately, it wasn't very good. That Nutella taste was hardly present in the cream, and the choux pastry was rather chewy. Safe to say, we'll stick to what they're best at: karipaps! =)
