Coconut Shake @ Padang Kota Lama, Georgetown

Price Range : Budget
Cuisine : Indian (drinks and snacks)
Recommended For : Pit-stop while touring Penang
Catphobia-friendly? : NO!

This is about the best thing you can get on a balmy day in Penang! The coconut shake (RM2.50) is especially phenomenal when you’ve spent the afternoon trudging under the blazing sun from one attraction to another.

Such a simple recipe, but a brilliant one nonetheless: ice-cold coconut water with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. What a treat for parched throats!

If you’ve gotten a little hungry from all that sightseeing, the stall next to the coconut shake sells a mean plate of Mee Sotong (RM4)!

Opening Hours:
 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday
Closed on Sundays (but open on public holidays)

Parking:
There’s ample parking bays on Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah (the one right by the sea). Make sure you put enough coins in the parking meter though! Getting saman-ed for not doing that is quite the popular here (we learned that the hard way, unfortunately).
