This
is about the best thing you can get on a balmy day in Penang! The coconut shake (RM2.50) is especially
phenomenal when you’ve spent the afternoon trudging under the blazing sun from
one attraction to another.
Such a
simple recipe, but a brilliant one nonetheless: ice-cold coconut water with a
dollop of vanilla ice cream. What a treat for parched throats!
If
you’ve gotten a little hungry from all that sightseeing, the stall next to the
coconut shake sells a mean plate of Mee
Sotong (RM4)!

There’s
ample parking bays on Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah (the one right by the sea). Make
sure you put enough coins in the parking meter though! Getting saman-ed for not doing that is quite the
popular here (we learned that the hard way, unfortunately).
