Catphobia-Friendly?: Oh, yes
Sometimes, you crave for something super basic like nasi lemak, which shouldn't be too hard to tend to. And sometimes, you crave for something rather specific like a platter of oysters. The question is, where to find a good plate of fresh oysters in KL? (besides buffets, that is).
Having a total light bulb moment, we set sail to Shucked! The little seafood bar is located inside Ben's Independent Grocer, and boasts a gobsmacking display of glorious seafood on ice!
We zeroed in on the reason we were there: bucketful of oysters flown in from various countries including New Zealand, France, Australia and the Netherlands.
The fun thing about Shucked is that you can opt for a tasting portion, so instead of springing for a whole dozen of your choice of oysters, you can set set up a tasting platter with sets of three.
We decided on the New Zealander Coramandel (RM28 for 3 pieces / RM96 per dozen) and the Dutch Creuses No 3 (RM24 for 3 pieces / RM88 per dozen), and lapped them up in all their brilliantly brine-y goodness!
We can't wait to return and try the other seafood favourites on their menu, including herring, gravlax, sashimi and ceviche.
