Recommended For : A meaty craving
Catphobia-Friendly : Yes

We sometimes feel that burgers are one of the forgotten childhood pleasures, akin to that worn blue blanket that always kept you safe, that awaited visit from your favourite distant uncle. In much simpler times, going out for proper, wholesome burgers used to be a such a treat! And as our teeth sank into The Daily Grind's juicy patties, all these familiar gooey feelings can't help but rush back, and suddenly we're 10 again!

Being a burger joint, The Daily Grind offers more than 15 types of burgers to choose from: whether you are craving for some good old beef patty, or prefer to sink your teeth in some lamb patties; there are even non-meat patties that still sound tempting! Below is a guide to our favourites, based on our moods:

For the Traditional: The Buffalo Mozza Burger (RM35)
This is quite a nice upgrade to the traditional cheeseburger, as the beef patty is stuffed with buffalo mozarella cheese. Being very rich, the cheese complements the juicy patty perfectly, but one too many bites can potentially leave you feeling muak. However, the burger is cleverly stuffed also with generous sprigs of fresh basil, watercress and tomatoes, which bring about such freshness to the dish and helps to balance out the heaviness of the cheese.

For the Exotic: My Big Fat Greek Burger (RM29)
This is, essentially, Greece on a plate (or on a chopping board, as that is what all the burgers are served on...)! The Mediterranean flavours shine through with its wonderfully-seasoned lamb patty and slices of grilled eggplant, topped with a generous serving of minty cucumber yoghurt. And of course, no Grecian meal is complete without its feta salad. If you are a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine, this burger interpretation of it will not disappoint you.

For the Carnivore: Triple Stack Burger (RM37)
By triple stack, we mean three pieces of 100g beef patties! Each patty is layered with an assortment of ingredients: cheddar cheese, sauteed onions, and mushrooms, topped with slices of crispy turkey bacon and a fried egg. This burger is dangerously tempting to people who may have been unwillingly following a vegetarian meal plan for a considerable amount of time.

For the 'Like a Sir's: Foie Gras Burger (RM58)
Who would think to combine burgers; commonly associated with casual dining, with foie grasthe epitome of fine dining? The Daily Grind successfully blends the wholesomeness feel with a touch of exclusivity through this dish! The pan seared foie gras is served atop a juicy beef patty with a balsamic palm sugar glaze. The foie gras; known for its buttery taste and delicate texture, goes really well with the sweet glaze. Along with the portobello mushrooms and the incredibly amazing onion cranberry jam, one bite of all these perfectly-combined components together is a definite pleasure to the senses.

For the Burgerless: Pan-Fried Meat Loaf (RM28)
This was an accidental favourite, as we ordered it without having much expectations. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the meat loaf itself is huge and, as with most of their meats, wonderfully flavoured! It's served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, with onion rings and onion gravy.

The Daily Grind has actually moved from across the lot it now occupies, and we're loving their refurbished look and feel:

So, as the weekend is coming to its dreaded end, perhaps a visit to these awesome burgers may help to ease the dreaded Monday blues! =)
